Terms of Service
The deal, in plain language.
These are the terms between you and MeetScribe (sold by Ashley Sperry) when you buy or use the software. Last updated: November 8, 2026.
1. What MeetScribe is
MeetScribe is software that runs on your own computer. It records meetings or imports recordings and transcripts (including exports from Fathom, Otter, Fireflies, and Zoom), transcribes recordings offline, and extracts action items and decisions into a searchable library and a commitments register. There is no account and no hosted version of the core product.
2. The free trial
Your first 5 meetings are free, however they arrive — recorded, transcribed, or imported. You do not need to pay, or enter payment details, to try them.
3. Your license
Buying MeetScribe gives you a personal license to install and use it on computers you own or control, for your own work. Your license key is yours: please don't share it, sell it, or publish it, and don't redistribute the program itself. If your key is lost or leaks, write to us and we will replace it. The software remains the property of its maker; what you buy is the right to use it.
4. Price and payment
The core tool is a one-time payment of $29 USD. MeetScribe Pro, which adds automatic Fathom sync, is an optional subscription at $9 USD per month, billed through Stripe. You can cancel Pro at any time; cancelling stops future charges, and your library and the core tool are unaffected. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never handle your card details.
5. Delivery
After payment, your download and license key are sent to the email address you paid with. The download is also available as a backup on the thank-you page after checkout. If your delivery email does not arrive, write to us and we will resend it.
6. Refunds
Every purchase of the core tool has a 14-day refund, no questions asked: write to us within 14 days of purchase and you will be refunded in full to your original payment method. For Pro, cancelling stops future charges.
7. Honest limits
MeetScribe does its work locally, from the words in your meetings, and it has limits we state openly: it does not identify who is speaking on a plain recording, transcription accuracy depends on the quality of the audio, and the extraction can miss a commitment that was phrased unusually. Every tracked item keeps its exact source sentence so you can check it. Please verify important items before relying on them.
8. Your content is yours
Your recordings, transcripts, library, and exports belong to you. Because everything stays on your machine, we have no access to them and claim no rights in them.
9. Warranty and liability
MeetScribe is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be removed.
10. Changes
We may update the software and these terms. Term changes will be posted on this page with a new date and will not change the one-time nature of a core license you already bought. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
